Kenny Hess has been deeply involved in the music industry for more than a couple decades. Born in Outlook, Saskatchewan, he began traveling the country at just 15 years of age, singing the songs of such greats as Charlie Pride, Don Williams and Kris Kristofferson. It wasn’t long before Kenny was singing his own songs and sharing the stage with those very same Iconic artists, along with Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Garth Brooks, Reba, Willie Nelson and so many more.
A prolific songwriter, Hess was noticed in the early nineties by Nashville’s legendary songwriter Harlan Howard, and his long and illustrious songwriting career was launched when he signed with Harlan Howard Songs and Curb records one of the most prestigious publishing houses in the country. Kenny has since had several nationally charted singles of his own, and has had more than 200 of his original songs recorded.
Kenny has had his successes honored many times with Country music awards such as Male vocalist, Album of the year, Life time achievement and the traditional artist of the year 8 times. But of all the accolades, nothing has moved him more than when in 2015, he was inducted into the BCCMA Country Music Hall of Fame.
Leaning on his strengths and family ties, Kenny has also had a series of critically acclaimed children’s books (Becca Lou the cow that couldn’t moo and her Barnyard crew) published internationally.
Though blessed with the soul of a story-teller and one of the biggest voices in country music, Kenny’s real strength has always been his ability to hold an audience in the palm of his hand whether it be with his country-soaked voice, wry sense of humor, or heartfelt songs of life.
Kenny Hess performs over 80 shows a year, primarily in America, but his songs can be heard around the globe.“A natural born entertainer with a huge voice and great songs makes for a very special show. If you have never seen Kenny perform, please go grab a seat, sit back and enjoy a little taste of good ole country music… Kenny Hess style!” – Music Row magazine Nashville TN
