MASTERCLASS – Comedy Writing for Page, Stage, Radio & Screen

This masterclass will be an intensive introduction to everything you always wanted to know about humour but were too serious to ask: the history and theory behind comedy, the fundamentals of joke-writing, and the different applications of comedic writing across forms. Drawing on the instructor’s experience as a Juno-nominated stand-up comedian; author, and editor of a literary humour imprint; work as a playwright and television writer; and contributions to CBC comedies such as The Debaters and This Hour Has 22 Minutes, this class will be a mix of lecture, in-class writing prompts, and group discussion.
