At a time when superficial hot takes and bot-driven comments section rumbles are generating far more heat than light, it’s worth reflecting on the power of words to help us connect, convince, and cooperate when used in good faith. Drawing on the presenter’s varied experience as an essayist, political comedian, debater (both comedic and otherwise), and political speechwriter, this workshop will use a mix of lecture, in-class writing prompts, and group discussion to explore how to use words to make your case.
