POV is an important element in the writer’s bag of tricks. It is an important tool for the author to employ to show personal emotions or characters’ feelings about an event. We use POV to show the reader exactly what we want them to know about our characters, the plot and the overall story. What are the different types of POV? What is head hopping? What is a ‘hook’? And how do we use it.
